For those of you who don’t know me, my name’s Emma and I’m the gal behind Nutrition Bites with Emma.
I’m a university qualified nutritionist (Bsc -Massey University) and am currently completing my Masters degree in Human Nutrition & Dietetics at the University of Auckland. I thought over the next few years while completing my master’s it would be great to have a way to share what I’m learning and hopefully pass on some useful tips & tricks on living a balanced lifestyle. Here you’ll find “bites” of nutrition, recipe inspiration and most likely a few random rants on stuff I find interesting.. which I hope you’ll enjoy.
My food philosophy is simple. I like to enjoy real wholefoods as close to their natural form as possible. This means eating a variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains & lean animal protein. Basically I recommend eating as much real food as possible -the stuff that’s still recognisable and doesn’t contain a gazzlion ingredients, real food it’s that simple! I enjoy experimenting and trying new flavour combo’s and dishes, fresh really is best and once you get back to eating “real” food I’m sure you’ll notice food becomes a whole lot more tasty!
While I do believe in eating real wholefoods, I also believe food is designed to be enjoyable, we shouldn’t be constantly analysing every nibble & mouthful we consume. Therefore I believe in balance -this means being able to grab icecream with the gals, enjoy a slice of pizza & not be consumed by guilt immediately after.
I hope you’ll enjoy the “nutrition bites” as much as me,
